About Kent Wakeford

An attorney, entrepreneur, and business executive, Kent Wakeford has spent his career immersed in the areas of digital media, Internet technology, and intellectual property. Upon graduation from high school, Kent Wakeford enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, where, from 1988 to 1992, he pursued many subjects during his undergraduate studies. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree (cum laude) from UCLA, Kent Wakeford gained admission to the University of Southern California Law School and began to lay the foundations for his legal career. An exemplary student at USC Law, Kent Wakeford earned induction into the Order of the Coif honor society, served as an editor of the Southern California Law Review, won the Norma Zarsky Memorial Award (entertainment law), and received the Gerald G. and Sally D. Kelly Award (highest scholarship). In 1996, Kent Wakeford graduated with honors from USC Law and subsequently passed the California State Bar Examination.

Following USC Law, Kent Wakeford secured a role as an entertainment attorney with the Los Angeles-based international law firm, O’Melveny & Myers LLP. From September 1996 to February 1999, Kent Wakeford worked on a variety of projects for clients in the film, music, and publishing industries regarding acquisitions, financing, and investments. Relocating to New York City at the end of this period, Kent Wakeford joined AOL as a vice president and devoted his professional efforts to business development for the global media corporation. With a focus on team leadership, Kent Wakeford forged numerous business partnerships for AOL during his five years with the company, and he also held certain legal responsibilities as a representative to the Interactive Advertising Bureau task force.

Since then, Kent Wakeford has operated as Board Member, Vice President, and President of Care for the Homeless in New York; President of The Enthusiast Network, LLC; and Senior Vice President of Clearspring Technologies. At present, Kent Wakeford lives and works in New York, where he serves as President of AdSafe Media, Inc. the leading online content rating and ad verification platform.
